Johnny Suderman
Johnny is a basketmaker/teacher, willow grower, and hand-craft enthusiast. He can often be found tending willow coppice, foraging for weaving materials, and making baskets. Since 2018, he has been exploring this heritage craft and spreading his love for basketry. He started his own willow patch in 2022, and is the owner/operator of Lakeshore Willows (est 2007), a business started by his teacher and friend Lene Rasmussen.
Descendant of English and German Mennonite settler-ancestors, Johnny currently resides in Cambridge Ontario.
