Fairbairn House, 45 Chem. de Wakefield Heights, Wakefield, QC. This traditional Polish bread basket is an open weave style best made from fresh harvested willow, making this the perfect season. Come to the farm and meet the willow in the field before you learn how to make a bread basket for the holiday table. To weave this basket, you need to be comfortable sitting, and sometimes squating, on the floor as it's easier if you can use both your hands and feet for some parts. A strong grip and a little arm strength help as well. You will leave with your own finished basket and can optionally purchase material to practice at home.
