Last minute workshop! if we can get 8 participants to join, we will host Danielle Prophet, of the Natural Tannery, and learn how to take a rescued sheepskin and transform them into beautiful textiles with natural bark tanning. This two day workshop will cover everything you need to know, and you can leave with a finished hide and one started hide to finish at home.
Sheepskins are not just beautiful, they are functional. Regulating heat and humidity better than any engineered fabric, antimicrobial, and comfortable, they are used in medical settings for bed ridden patients, and can be used in craft projects in the home, for winter wear, or just as a fabulous (and functional) seat cover. Every year, tens of thousands of sheepskins are thrown away in animal processing facilities. You can join the rescue mission with the right skill set!
